Local Artist Explores Impressionism Through Metal Prints
Wesley Chapel residents interested in unique art forms have a new local artist to discover. Sarah Jenkins, a long-time resident of the Seven Oaks community, is gaining recognition for her distinctive approach to impressionism, utilizing metal prints as her primary medium.
Jenkins, who works from her home studio off Old Pasco Road, explained her process. "I've always been drawn to the way light plays on surfaces, a core tenet of impressionism. Printing on metal allows the colors to truly pop and gives the artwork a luminous quality that you just can't achieve with traditional canvas or paper," she stated.
Her pieces often depict familiar Wesley Chapel scenes, from the vibrant sunsets over the Cypress Creek Town Center to the serene landscapes of local parks and the bustling Shops at Wiregrass. "People tell me they recognize the light, even if the scene is abstracted. That's what I aim for – to capture the feeling of a place," Jenkins added.
While Jenkins primarily sells her work through her online gallery, she is also a regular participant in local art fairs, including the upcoming Wesley Chapel Arts Festival scheduled for next month at The Grove. She encourages community members to visit her booth there to see the unique effects of her metal prints firsthand.
For those looking to support local artists and add a modern, vibrant touch to their homes, Jenkins' work offers a fresh perspective on a classic art movement.
