Linn-Mar High School, a member of the Mississippi Valley Conference since 1986, delivered a commanding performance at the MVC girls track championship, securing the title with 142 points. The Panthers' dominance reflects the strength of Marion's athletic program, which competes in a conference spanning eastern Iowa's major metropolitan areas including Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, Iowa City and Waterloo-Cedar Falls. The Mississippi Valley Conference divides its competitive programs into two divisions—the Mississippi Division and the Valley Division—with assignment rotations occurring every two years.
