According to WSVN, firefighters responded just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday to a triplex near NW 15th St. and 56th Ave. Officials said no one was reported hurt in the fire, and 13 residents were displaced, including five adults and eight children.
Officials told WSVN the fire may have been electrical and may have sparked near a stand-alone freezer. Authorities said the cause has not been finalized and the incident remains under investigation.
WSVN reported that Lauderhill Fire Rescue responded to the scene. The reports did not identify any arrests or say whether the building is habitable.
Dispatch records show there have been 156 similar structure fires in Lauderhill over the past six months, underscoring how frequently crews in the city are being called to fire-related emergencies.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials have not released a final cause. Additional updates are expected as fire investigators continue their review.
