Lauderdale Lakes Truck Fire Crash: What We Know So Far
A pickup truck crashed into the Latino Medical Center in Lauderdale Lakes and caught fire, but no injuries were reported, according to WSVN and CBS News Miami.
According to the reports, first responders extinguished the flames after the truck hit the building at 3670 W. Oakland Park Blvd. Deputies said the driver was cited, and an investigation is underway.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue units responded to the crash, and officials said the incident did not leave any reported injuries. The response included fire and law enforcement crews, indicating a vehicle fire tied to a crash rather than an ongoing structure fire.
Dispatch records show there have been two similar vehicle fire incidents in Lauderdale Lakes over the past six months.
Separately, CBS News Miami reported an early-morning vehicle fire in Oakland Park in which a vehicle was engulfed in flames, one person was found dead outside the burning vehicle and two others were taken to a hospital. Broward Sheriff officials said that case was also under investigation, and the victims' identities had not been released.
Officials have not said what caused the Lauderdale Lakes crash and fire, and no additional injuries have been reported so far. Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
