Lithia Prepares for Annual Spring Clean-Up Event

LITHIA, FL – April 13, 2026 – Lithia residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for the annual Spring Clean-Up Event, scheduled for Saturday, April 27, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This community-wide initiative aims to help residents dispose of unwanted household items, yard waste, and bulk trash responsibly, contributing to a cleaner and more beautiful Lithia.

The event will feature several drop-off locations across town, including the Lithia Community Park parking lot and the old Public Works yard on Main Street in the historic downtown area. Volunteers from the Lithia Beautification Committee and local high school students from Newsome High School will be on hand to assist residents with unloading items.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to do their part in keeping Lithia pristine,” said Martha Jenkins, Chair of the Lithia Beautification Committee. “We’ve seen tremendous participation in previous years, and we’re hoping for an even bigger turnout this time. It’s not just about cleaning up; it’s about fostering community pride.”

Accepted items include furniture, mattresses, appliances (without refrigerants), tires (limit 4 per household), and bagged yard waste. Hazardous materials, paint, chemicals, and electronics will not be accepted at this event. Residents are advised to check the official Lithia town website or contact the Public Works Department for information on proper disposal methods for these specific items.

The Spring Clean-Up is a free service for all Lithia residents. Proof of residency, such as a utility bill or driver's license, may be required at drop-off sites. For more information, including a detailed list of accepted and prohibited items, residents can visit the Lithia Town Hall during business hours or call the Public Works Department at (813) 555-1234.

Let's work together to make Lithia, with its natural springs and lush landscapes, shine this spring!
