Lakeland Library Media Center to Host Spring Reading Challenge
The Lakeland Library Media Center announced today its upcoming Spring Reading Challenge, designed to encourage reading among residents of all ages in Lakeland's vibrant lakeside community. The challenge, which kicks off on Monday, April 15, 2026, will run through the end of May.
Participants can register at the library's front desk, located at 100 Main Street in the heart of historic downtown Lakeland, starting next week. Readers will log their completed books, with prizes awarded in various age categories, including children, teens, and adults. Library Director, Ms. Eleanor Vance, stated, "We're excited to bring this challenge back to Lakeland. It's a wonderful way to foster a love of reading and connect our community through stories."
Special events, including story times for younger readers and a book club discussion for adults, are planned throughout the challenge period. Details on these events will be available on the library's bulletin board and social media pages. The challenge culminates with a celebration event on Saturday, June 1, 2026, where participants will be recognized and prizes distributed.
