Juneteenth Celebration in Pembroke Pines June 19
Staff Writer
May 21, 2026
Pembroke Pines will host a Juneteenth celebration Friday, June 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center.
The event commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. The city recognizes Juneteenth as a paid holiday.
The celebration features the Sankofa Museum: America's Story Through the Eyes of Its People, a live performance by The Deep-Fried Funk Band, arts and crafts, a guest speaker, and food.
