Jacksonville Alumni Association Seeks Community Engagement
The Jacksonville Alumni Association is actively seeking to reconnect with former students and faculty from local schools across Duval County to strengthen community ties and support current educational initiatives. The association, which represents graduates from Jacksonville High School, Northwood Academy, and other area institutions, is planning a series of outreach events throughout the spring and summer.
According to association president, Martha Jenkins, a 1988 graduate of Jacksonville High, "We believe there's a wealth of talent and experience right here in Jacksonville that can benefit our students and our town. We're looking for alumni to share their stories, mentor current students, and help us fundraise for important school projects."
The first event, a casual meet-and-greet, is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, at 2:00 PM at the old gymnasium on Elm Street in the heart of downtown, now known as the Community Recreation Center. All former students, teachers, and staff are encouraged to attend and learn more about how they can contribute. Further details on upcoming events and membership can be found by contacting the association through the Jacksonville Community Center.
