Israeli Prime Minister Addresses UN Amid Protests, Responds to Walkouts

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday. His address took place amid protests outside the UN headquarters in New York City. Demonstrators, including elected officials and celebrities, were taken into custody during the protests.

During Netanyahu's speech, several delegates walked out of the assembly hall. Among those who departed was New York City Council Member Shahana Hanif. Following the walkout, Netanyahu directly addressed Hanif in his speech, stating, "Shame on you, Shahana Hanif." He also claimed that "Jews no longer feel safe in New York."

Footage from the event showed numerous individuals leaving the chamber as Netanyahu began his remarks. The protests and walkouts occurred during Netanyahu's visit to the United States for the General Assembly.
