Iran Responds to US Economic Pressure Statements

Iranian officials have commented on recent statements made by former President Donald Trump concerning the country's economic situation. They described Trump's remarks about an "economic D-Day" as a tactic to redirect attention from financial issues within the United States.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said that such comments indicated a focus on Iran within the context of American internal politics. He added that a strategy aiming to disrupt Iran's economy "will only bring further defeat."

Trump previously stated that Iran's economy faces significant challenges. An adviser to Iran's former central bank, however, disputed this assessment.

Bloomberg.com reported that Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes, Elizabeth Rosenberg Bessent, plans to outline US strategies regarding Iran's economy on Monday. These plans reportedly involve efforts to further isolate Iran's economic activities.
