International Coastal Cleanup Set for Saturday, September 19 in Deerfield Beach

Deerfield Beach residents will have an opportunity to contribute to local environmental efforts this Saturday, September 19, during the annual International Coastal Cleanup. The event, which runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, calls on community volunteers to help maintain the city's shoreline.

Volunteers should gather for check-in at 9:00 AM at the chickee hut located across from Fire Station 71, at 71 SE 21st Ave. Organizers will provide essential cleanup supplies, including gloves, bags, buckets, and water. The first 100 participants to arrive will receive free parking passes, valid for the duration of the event.

In an effort to promote eco-friendly practices, participants who bring their own reusable items—such as buckets, work gloves, or refillable water bottles—will receive an entry into an exclusive raffle. The prize pack for the raffle winner includes official DFB swag.

The International Coastal Cleanup aims to protect local marine life and keep Deerfield Beach's shoreline pristine. This annual event provides a direct way for residents to engage in environmental stewardship and ensure the beauty of the city's coastal areas.
