Instagram Head Testifies in Child Safety Lawsuit Against Meta

OAKLAND, Calif. — Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, testified in federal court on August 25, 2026. This testimony occurred as part of a lawsuit against Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook.

Four U.S. states filed the lawsuit. They allege Meta designed its social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram, to create addiction among children. The states also claim Meta misrepresented the risks associated with its platforms to the public.
