Hollywood SR-7 Car Fire: One Dead, Investigators Reviewing Crash
A car fire on SR-7 in Hollywood left one person dead, according to NBC Miami, which reported the victim was thrown from the vehicle. This is what we know so far.
Hollywood Fire Rescue said it responded to a vehicle accident involving a car fire at about 2:52 a.m. in the northbound lanes of SR-7, just south of Mayo Street, according to the agency. NBC Miami reported that one person died after being ejected from the car that caught fire.
No formal cause has been released, and the available reporting does not identify what sparked the crash or fire. One report said the roadway was open after the crash, and there is no confirmed road closure in the sources reviewed.
Hollywood Fire Rescue was the primary response agency named in the reporting. The response to a vehicle fire on a major state road suggests a rapid dispatch and a scene serious enough to draw emergency crews to the northbound lanes near a busy corridor.
Dispatch records show prior incidents at this location, including trauma on June 1, 2026, and two additional incidents on May 26, 2026, one involving an officer-involved shooting and another listed as other.
Officials have not announced a final investigative finding. More information may come from Hollywood Fire Rescue or law enforcement as the crash investigation continues.
Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
