Hernando County Commissioners Approve New Contract for Roadside Mowing Services
Hernando County Commissioners voted unanimously yesterday, April 12, 2026, to approve a new contract for roadside mowing and maintenance services. The decision, made during their regular meeting at the County Government Center on North Main Street in historic Brooksville, aims to ensure the continued upkeep of county roadsides.
The new contract, awarded to GreenScape Solutions, a local company based out of Spring Hill, is valued at $1.2 million annually for a three-year term. This agreement will cover the mowing and trimming of over 500 miles of county-maintained roads, including major thoroughfares like US-41 and County Line Road, as well as numerous residential streets across Hernando County.
Commissioner John Smith emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and safe appearance for the county. "Our residents deserve well-maintained public spaces, and this contract ensures that our roadsides will continue to be kept in top condition," Smith stated during the meeting. The services are expected to commence on May 1, 2026, with crews beginning in the southern parts of the county around Spring Hill and moving north.
