Hallandale Beach Storage Fire: What We Know So Far

A warehouse storage fire at Extra Space Storage in Hallandale Beach has been extinguished with no injuries reported, and officials are now investigating the cause. This is what we know so far about the incident that began early Saturday morning.

According to Pompano Beach Fire Rescue and CBS News Miami, firefighters received the call at 2:01 a.m. and arrived to find smoke and flames emanating from the storage warehouse. The blaze affected nine storage units, while all 40 units in the building suffered smoke damage. A car stored inside one of the units was destroyed, along with other personal items. Officials confirmed no injuries were reported and estimated property damage at $250,000, excluding the contents.

The emergency response involved numerous apparatus as fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze completely. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue stated that firefighters successfully contained the fire coming from the storage warehouse. Meanwhile, the Pompano Beach Fire Prevention Bureau announced that the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Dispatch records show this is not an isolated event in the area; there have been 155 similar structure fire incidents reported in Hallandale Beach over the past six months.
