Hallandale Beach Mobile Home Fire: What We Know So Far
A fire in Hallandale Beach damaged at least one mobile home and displaced several residents, and this is what we know so far.
According to CBS News Miami, everyone in the affected homes was able to get out safely, and the fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes after spreading to a single room. CBS reported that at least two families were forced out of their homes.
NBC Miami reported that three people were displaced, according to authorities. The fire was reported in a mobile home park, and CBS News Miami said approximately 35 firefighters responded to the scene.
Officials have not announced a confirmed cause. CBS News Miami reported that the State Fire Marshal is investigating, and one family told the station they believed the fire may have started from an electrical issue in the roof, though that has not been confirmed by investigators.
The size of the response suggests fire crews moved quickly to contain the blaze before it could spread beyond the initial room and nearby homes.
Dispatch records show 134 similar structure fire incidents in Hallandale Beach over the past six months.
What happens next will depend on the State Fire Marshal's findings and any further updates from local fire officials on damage and displacement.
Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
