Hallandale Beach Fire Displaces Residents, State Marshal Investigating
A fire at a Hallandale Beach mobile home park displaced residents, and investigators are still working to determine what started it, according to news reports.
CBS News Miami reported that the blaze was out within 15 minutes and was contained to a single room, sparing most of the building from major damage. The station said approximately 35 firefighters responded, and that the state fire marshal is investigating.
According to CBS News Miami, two families were forced out, and one family believed the fire may have started from an electrical issue in the roof. That possible cause has not been confirmed by investigators. NBC Miami reported that authorities said three people were displaced.
The response was large enough to bring roughly three dozen firefighters to the scene, suggesting crews moved quickly to keep the fire from spreading beyond the original room and limiting damage to the rest of the property.
Dispatch records show 134 similar structure-fire incidents in Hallandale Beach over the past six months.
What comes next is an official determination from the state fire marshal, who is continuing the investigation. Further updates are expected as investigators confirm the cause and any additional damage or displacement details.
