Hallandale Beach Condominium Fire: What We Know So Far
A two-alarm fire inside a five-story condominium in Hallandale Beach drew a significant response Friday night, and this is what we know so far.
According to WSVN, Hallandale Beach Fire Rescue said the blaze was reported inside the building at 601 Three Islands Blvd. just after 7 p.m. Smoke was seen on the third floor and in the hallway, but officials said there were no occupants in the condo at the time.
No injuries have been reported, according to the station, and investigators have not yet determined what caused the fire.
The two-alarm designation indicates a larger fire response than a single-engine call, typically bringing additional crews and resources to the scene as firefighters work to contain the damage and check for hidden fire spread. Hallandale Beach Fire Rescue has not released additional details on the number of units sent or whether nearby agencies assisted.
Dispatch records show this address has had previous emergency calls this spring, including a fall injury on May 18 and two structure fires on May 15.
Officials have not announced when they will provide another update, and the cause remains under investigation according to the available reporting.
Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
