Vegas General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced the signing of Weiermair, a sixth-round selection (186th overall) from the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, marking a significant step in the forward's professional trajectory. The Los Angeles native has flourished since moving to the WHL midway through the 2024-25 season after struggling during his sophomore year at the University of Denver, where he won an NCAA Championship during the 2023-24 season.

Weiermair's production speaks to his rapid development. The 6-foot-1, 209-pound right winger currently leads the Portland Winterhawks with 32 goals and 43 assists through 57 games, accumulating 75 points—the 11th most in the entire WHL. Last season, he posted 21 goals and 25 assists in 41 regular-season games, then delivered 10 goals and 13 assists in 18 postseason contests as Portland reached the Western Conference Final.

The signing represents Vegas' commitment to developing talent through its Henderson affiliate system. Weiermair joins prospects Ben Hemmerling, Kai Uchacz, and Trevor Connelly within the Golden Knights' organizational pipeline. Once his WHL eligibility concludes at season's end, Weiermair is expected to transition to the Henderson Silver Knights' AHL roster, positioning him for potential NHL consideration in coming seasons.
