A Gale Warning has been issued for the Northern Lynn Canal, effective immediately until Monday, September 21, at 5:00 PM AKDT. Mariners and residents in the affected area, spanning Southeast Alaska Inside Waters from Dixon Entrance to Skagway, should prepare for hazardous conditions.

The National Weather Service Juneau AK reports south winds reaching 35 knots today, with seas up to 7 feet. Tonight, winds are expected to increase to southeast at 40 knots, with seas remaining at 7 feet. On Monday, southeast gales up to 35 knots will diminish to 25 knots in the afternoon, with seas around 6 feet. Widespread dense fog is also expected Monday morning.

These conditions pose a significant risk to marine activity. Individuals should secure loose items, ensure vessels are properly moored, and consider postponing non-essential travel in the affected waters. Showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms are also in the forecast.
