Gale Warning Issued for Coastal Waters: High Winds and Seas Expected

A Gale Warning has been issued for the coastal waters from Cape Fairweather to Icy Cape, between 15 and 80 nautical miles offshore. The National Weather Service in Juneau, AK, issued this warning at 9:25 PM AKDT on September 22, effective until 5:00 PM AKDT on September 23.

This warning covers the Southeast Alaska Coastal Waters from Dixon Entrance to Cape Suckling, extending out 100 nautical miles. Mariners and residents in these areas should prepare for significant wind and sea conditions.

Expect east winds at 35 knots with seas reaching 15 feet tonight. Winds will diminish to 25 knots by Wednesday afternoon, with seas around 11 feet. Showers are also anticipated during this period. The hazardous conditions are expected to gradually subside after Wednesday night.
