G7 Leaders Endorse Trump Administration's Iran Agreement

Leaders from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States backed a Trump administration agreement with Iran at the conclusion of the G7 summit in France.

The U.S. State Department released additional details of the arrangement during the summit. Trump discussed the agreement at a news conference as the gathering wrapped up, characterizing it as a resolution to the conflict between the two nations.

French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau each signaled support for the accord. None of the allied leaders raised public objections to the terms disclosed by the U.S. delegation.

The summit proceeded without significant public disputes among member nations. Previous G7 gatherings had featured sharp disagreements on trade policy, climate commitments, and approaches to Russia and China.

Trump administration officials declined to specify whether the agreement included military provisions, sanctions relief, or conditions on Iran's nuclear program. Spokespersons said the full text would be released to Congress following internal review.

Iran's government did not immediately issue a formal statement on the accord. Iranian media outlets reported the agreement but offered no official endorsement or rejection.
