A Freeze Warning has been issued for Eastern Magic Valley, Shoshone/Lava Beds, and Arco/Mud Lake Desert from 3 AM to 9 AM MDT on Monday, October 12; protect sensitive plants and outdoor plumbing.
Residents in the Eastern Magic Valley, Shoshone/Lava Beds, and Arco/Mud Lake Desert areas are advised to take immediate action to protect sensitive plants from freezing temperatures. The National Weather Service (NWS) Pocatello has issued a Freeze Warning effective from 3 AM MDT to 9 AM MDT on Monday, October 12.
Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit are expected. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Unprotected outdoor plumbing may also be damaged. The NWS Pocatello noted that cloud cover and precipitation could make temperature forecasting challenging, and some locations within the affected zones might remain above freezing.
This Freeze Warning was issued today, October 11, at 11:16 AM MDT, and remains in effect until October 12 at 9:00 AM MDT. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
