Fort Lauderdale Structure Fire: What We Know So Far
A structure fire was reported near E Las Olas Blvd and Isle of Capri Dr in Fort Lauderdale late Saturday, and this is what we know so far.
No injuries, evacuations or cause have been confirmed in the available reports. The fire remains under investigation based on the dispatch information available so far.
Emergency crews responded at a Level 2 response, which typically indicates a larger-than-routine dispatch and suggests firefighters requested additional resources beyond a standard first-alarm assignment. Dispatch records do not yet list which agencies were on scene or whether the fire was contained.
Historical dispatch data show this is not an isolated type of call for the city: there have been 827 similar structure fire incidents in Fort Lauderdale over the past six months, according to dispatch records.
Officials have not yet released details on the fire’s origin, the extent of the damage or whether the building was occupied at the time. Additional updates would normally come from fire rescue officials as the scene is secured and investigators assess the cause.
Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
