Fort Lauderdale Drive-By Shooting: What We Know So Far
Two people were killed and three others were injured, including a 2-year-old child, in a drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale, according to reporting from the Miami Herald, CBS News Miami and WSVN 7News.
Police identified the victims killed as Tiarra Holliday, 28, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and Sheldon Lawrence, 45, who died after being taken to a hospital, according to the reports. Three other victims were treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman Casey Liening said the gunfire rang out around 7:55 p.m. near the 700 block of Northwest 10th Terrace, and investigators were still searching for a suspect or suspects, according to the reports. No arrests had been announced in the coverage cited.
The response remains an active homicide investigation, and police asked anyone with information to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers, where tips can be given anonymously, according to reporting from CBS News Miami and WSVN 7News.
Dispatch records show seven similar shooting incidents in Lauderhill in the past six months.
Officials had not announced any detentions at the time of the reporting, and the investigation was still ongoing.
