For Valentine’s Day, Ripley’s Acquires Forrest Gump’s Box of Chocolates, Among Other New Memorabilia
Ripley's Orlando Adds Iconic 'Forrest Gump' Prop to Collection
Orlando's own Ripley's Believe It or Not! on the vibrant International Drive recently announced a sweet acquisition for its collection: the actual box of chocolates used in the iconic film Forrest Gump. This unique piece of Hollywood history was unveiled just in time for Valentine's Day, adding a touch of cinematic romance to the local attraction.
The famous prop, central to Forrest Gump's memorable line, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get," is now a permanent fixture at the Orlando Odditorium. Visitors can see the box up close, a tangible link to one of cinema's most beloved stories.
Beyond the confectionery, Ripley's Orlando has also expanded its collection with several other intriguing items. Among the new additions is a lock of hair from the legendary rock and roll icon Elvis Presley, offering a personal glimpse into the life of the King. Additionally, the Odditorium now houses a collection of rare shrunken heads, showcasing the diverse and often bizarre artifacts Ripley's is known for.
These new exhibits continue Ripley's tradition of bringing the strange, the unusual, and the historically significant to Orlando residents and tourists alike in the theme park capital of the world. The acquisition of the Forrest Gump chocolate box, in particular, is expected to be a popular draw, especially for film enthusiasts and those looking for a unique photo opportunity.
Ripley's Believe It or Not! is located at 8201 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819. The Odditorium is open daily, and residents are encouraged to visit and experience these new additions firsthand.
