Florida Cracker Cook Shack Unveils New Menu Items

Brooksville residents looking for fresh flavors will be pleased to hear that the Florida Cracker Cook Shack, located at 8000 Old Crystal River Road in Hernando County, has introduced several new items to its menu. The popular local eatery, known for its Southern comfort food rooted in Florida Cracker traditions, rolled out the additions this week, aiming to offer more variety to its loyal customers.

Among the new offerings are a "Swamp Platter" featuring fried alligator tail and frog legs, and a "Cracker Burger" topped with pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes. For those with a sweet tooth, a homemade Key Lime Pie has also been added to the dessert selection. Owner Sarah Jenkins stated, "We've listened to our customers and wanted to bring some exciting new options that still capture that authentic Florida Cracker spirit."

The Cook Shack is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Patrons can stop by to sample the new menu items starting today, April 8, 2026.
