Florida Cracker Cook Shack Unveils New Menu Items
Florida Cracker Cook Shack Introduces Fresh Flavors to Brooksville
Brooksville's beloved Florida Cracker Cook Shack, a staple for Southern comfort food, has announced an exciting update to its menu, bringing new dishes and refreshed favorites to local diners. The changes, which quietly rolled out last week, aim to enhance the dining experience while staying true to the restaurant's roots.
Patrons can now look forward to several additions that reflect a blend of traditional Florida Cracker cuisine with contemporary twists. Among the new offerings are a 'Swamp Cabbage and Sausage Skillet' for breakfast, featuring locally sourced ingredients, and a 'Smoked Brisket Sandwich' for lunch, slow-cooked to perfection and served on a fresh-baked bun from Brooksville's own Main Street Bakery.
Evening diners will find a 'Gulf Shrimp and Grits' dish, prepared with creamy stone-ground grits and a spicy Creole sauce, alongside a 'Fried Green Tomato Stack' appetizer, layered with pimento cheese and bacon jam. These additions are designed to offer more variety while maintaining the hearty, home-style cooking the Cook Shack is known for.
Owner and head chef, Martha 'Marty' Jenkins, expressed her enthusiasm for the new menu. "We've been listening to our customers and experimenting in the kitchen for months," Jenkins stated. "Our goal was to introduce some fresh, exciting options that still feel like home. We're particularly proud of the new brisket sandwich – it's already becoming a fast favorite."
The Florida Cracker Cook Shack, located at 120 N. Broad Street in historic downtown Brooksville, has been a cornerstone of the Brooksville dining scene for over a decade, known for its friendly atmosphere and commitment to local ingredients. The restaurant encourages residents to stop by and sample the new selections during their regular operating hours, Tuesday through Sunday, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
This menu refresh comes just in time for the spring season, offering residents and visitors alike new reasons to gather and enjoy a meal in the heart of Brooksville.
