Faircloth's No-Hitter Propels Mississippi State to Super Regional
Mississippi State defeated Oregon, led by Alyssa Faircloth's no-hitter. Faircloth's performance included 10 strikeouts on 77 pitches, marking the 25th no-hitter in program history. Following the victory over Oregon, Mississippi State advanced and defeated Saint Mary's in the regional final. Faircloth pitched a shutout, recording 14 strikeouts.
Faircloth transferred to Mississippi State from Troy University, where she recorded 150 strikeouts her sophomore year. Faircloth now holds the Mississippi State single-season strikeout record with 261. She also won SEC Newcomer of the Year and has a 16-7 record with a 2.28 ERA in 169 innings pitched.
Mississippi State will compete against Oklahoma in the Super Regional for a chance to reach the Women's College World Series.
