Elliott Wins Wurth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway, Claims Second Victory of 2026 Season

Chase Elliott secured victory at the Wurth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway on May 3, his second win of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season. Elliott, driving for Hendrick Motorsports, led 87 laps and won Stage 2 of the race. He previously won at Martinsville earlier in the season.

Elliott's victory came after a late restart, where he held off Denny Hamlin. Corey Heim's spin-out brought out the caution that led to the final restart. Hamlin finished second to Elliott for the second time this season.

Alex Bowman, returning from a battle with vertigo, recorded his second consecutive third-place finish. He also placed third at Talladega. Bowman has demonstrated top-10 performance since his return.

Christopher Bell finished 38th after a crash while leading the race. Todd Gilliland's car clipped Bell's after Gilliland saved his car from hitting the wall. Bell's recent finishes include 27th, 20th, 17th, and 38th.

Kyle Larson finished 31st after a single-car incident. The back of his car became loose, causing him to spin out. Larson, the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series champion, has not yet secured a win in the 2026 season.
