ECPI Cybersecurity Instructor Explores AI's Role in Digital Defense
Joe Guerra, a cybersecurity instructor at ECPI University in Lake Mary, published an article in Cyber Defense Magazine's RSAC Conference 2026 Special Edition exploring how artificial intelligence has become central to digital defense.
Guerra's article, "Artificial Intelligence As Cyber Infrastructure: The New Battlespace of Intelligence," explains how AI now forms a core part of organizational cyber defense rather than serving as a supporting tool. Modern enterprises generate data volumes that exceed human analytical capacity. AI analyzes these datasets, identifies patterns, and responds to threats in real time—a critical capability as ransomware spreads rapidly across networks.
ECPI University integrates AI into its cybersecurity programs, teaching students threat identification, data analysis, and response protocols. Guerra and other faculty members, including Robert Steffler and Paul Nussbaum, contribute to industry discussions through publications and conferences, bringing real-world expertise into the classroom.
