Drone Attack Targets Moscow Region, Three Dead

MOSCOW — A drone attack on the Moscow region killed three people and damaged a section of an oil refinery near the capital, authorities reported on Sunday. Officials described the event as the largest Ukrainian drone attack on the Moscow region to date.

Firefighters responded to the refinery, located approximately 12 miles south of the Kremlin. They extinguished a fire at the facility, which had sustained damage from the drone impact.

Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed over 30 drones during the incident. One drone crashed into an apartment building in the Moscow suburb of Domodedovo. The impact killed a family of three: a couple and their young daughter. Emergency services personnel recovered their bodies from the debris.

Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the specific types of drones used in the attack or the full extent of the damage to the oil refinery. The incident occurred on a Sunday during ongoing elections in Russia.
