Giants hitter Jung Hoo Lee hit a two-run inside-the-park home run in the fifth inning, tying the game at 2-2. Dodgers left fielder Teoscar Hernandez misplayed the ball, allowing Lee to score.
Offensively, Will Smith, batting leadoff for the first time in his career, hit a solo home run in the first inning. Hernandez contributed offensively, going 3-for-4 with three extra-base hits and one run scored. The Dodgers totaled five runs on eight hits. Manager Dave Roberts rested Shohei Ohtani from hitting and Mookie Betts from the lineup for the contest.
The Dodgers next face the Los Angeles Angels in the Freeway Series.
