Documentary Examines US Motherhood Support Systems

A new documentary, "No Country for Mothers," investigates the realities of motherhood in the United States. Amna Nawaz interviewed the filmmakers for the arts and culture series, CANVAS.

The film explores the financial aspects of childcare and cultural discussions surrounding parenting. Filmmakers highlighted the high costs associated with raising children in the U.S. They also addressed cultural debates impacting families.

Directors created the documentary to present the current landscape for American mothers. The project aims to provide an overview of the support systems available and those that are not.
