Diner Dies of Cardiac Arrest at Moody's Jack's Restaurant

National Desk
April 19, 2026
MOODY, Ala. — A person died following a cardiac arrest at Jack's Family Restaurant on Moody Parkway, the Moody Fire Department confirmed to ABC 33/40. Emergency crews rushed to 2511 Moody Parkway after the call came in, administering resuscitation measures in a bid to save the individual's life. Despite their efforts, the attempts proved unsuccessful, and the person was pronounced dead at the scene.[1] The incident occurred at the popular breakfast chain location in Moody, a growing city of about 13,000 residents in St. Clair County, just east of Birmingham. Jack's, known for its biscuits and affordable Southern fare, draws locals from nearby Trussville and Leeds for quick meals. Fire officials released no additional information, including the victim's identity, age, or exact time of the emergency, citing limited details available.[1] This marks the latest in a series of sudden medical emergencies reported in Alabama eateries and public spaces. Moody Fire, which serves the tight-knit community along Interstate 20, emphasized that no foul play is suspected. The department urged residents to recognize cardiac arrest signs—sudden collapse, no pulse, no breathing—and call 911 immediately, as survival rates drop 10% per minute without CPR.[1]
