Diane Parry Defeats Emma Raducanu in Strasbourg Opener
Diane Parry defeated Emma Raducanu 6-4, 7-6(4) at the WTA 500 tournament in Strasbourg. Parry, ranked No. 94 in the world, overcame Raducanu in two hours and 25 minutes.
The first set saw Parry recover from a 4-2 deficit to win 6-4. Raducanu struggled with her serve, committing multiple double faults throughout the match. While Raducanu increased her aggression in the second set, taking a 4-2 lead again, Parry broke back.
Raducanu forced a tie-break in the second set after multiple service breaks on both sides. Parry ultimately prevailed, winning the tie-break 7-4.
This was Raducanu's first tournament with coach Andrew Richardson, and her first since Indian Wells.
