Diana Scultori Appointed to Punta Gorda Historic Preservation Board
Punta Gorda is pleased to announce the appointment of Diana Scultori to the city's Historic Preservation Board. Ms. Scultori, a long-time resident with a deep appreciation for Punta Gorda's unique heritage, including its preserved historic districts along Charlotte Harbor, will bring her expertise and passion to the seven-member board responsible for safeguarding the city's historic resources.
The appointment was confirmed during the City Council meeting on April 7, 2026, following a recommendation from the City Manager's office. Ms. Scultori fills a vacancy left by a recent resignation and is expected to serve a three-year term. Her first official meeting with the board is scheduled for May 14, 2026, at 9:00 AM in the City Council Chambers at 326 W. Marion Avenue, in the heart of historic downtown Punta Gorda. These meetings are open to the public.
The Historic Preservation Board plays a crucial role in reviewing proposed changes to historic properties, advising on preservation initiatives, and promoting awareness of Punta Gorda's rich past, from its early fishing community roots to its Victorian-era architecture. Residents interested in learning more about the board's activities or upcoming projects can find information on the City of Punta Gorda's official website or by contacting the City Clerk's office.
