Deering Estate to Host Historic Ghost Tours Throughout October

Cutler Bay residents seeking a spooky local experience can look forward to the return of historic ghost tours at the Deering Estate this October. Known as one of South Florida's most haunted locations, the Miami-Dade County Heritage Park offers a series of tours exploring the estate's past and reported paranormal activity.

These tours provide insights into historic events, stories of past inhabitants, and accounts of paranormal occurrences experienced by both visitors and staff. Guests will walk the same paths once traversed by Indigenous People, Miami's early settlers, and Charles Deering himself, delving into the moments that reportedly linger on the grounds.

The Deering Estate will offer ghost tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout October, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets cost $45 per person. Space is limited, so residents should purchase tickets online in advance. The tours are recommended for ages 9 and up and may include mature subject matter. Guests are welcome to bring paranormal detection equipment, such as pendulums, dowsing rods, EMF meters, and cameras.

The Deering Estate, located at 16701 SW 72 Ave. in Miami, functions as a 21st-century house museum, a cultural and ecological field station, and a national landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The State of Florida owns the estate, and the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department manages it. Deering Estate is one of seven Miami-Dade County "Heritage Parks," playing a vital role in the community's history, environment, and providing recreational and cultural experiences.
