Davie Stabbing Probe: What We Know So Far
One person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and another person was taken into custody after a stabbing in Davie on Sunday evening, according to CBS News Miami and police statements.
According to CBS News Miami, police had not said whether the person in custody was the suspect, and investigators had not released what led up to the stabbing. Authorities also had not identified the victim or the person taken into custody, and had not said whether they knew each other.
CBS News Miami reported the stabbing happened near 35th Street near University Drive and Sterling Road, not at the Davie address listed in the initial dispatch. WSVN reported Davie police responded to an apartment building along Northwest 35th Street near 74th Avenue just after 7 p.m. Sunday, and paramedics took the victim to an area hospital.
WSVN reported the victim's condition was unknown as of Monday afternoon. Detectives also had not released the identities or ages of those involved, according to WSVN.
Davie police and paramedics handled the response, and the reported hospital transport and custody indicate an active law-enforcement and medical emergency response rather than a routine call.
Dispatch records show a prior stabbing was reported at this address on June 7, 2026.
Davie police are still investigating, and no cause, motive or confirmed relationship between the people involved has been released. Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
