Davie House Fire: What We Know So Far
A residential structure fire in Davie left one person dead, and investigators are still working to determine what sparked the flames, according to local reporting and Davie Fire Rescue.
Officials said the fire broke out at a property on Southwest 76th Avenue near Griffin Road, described in reporting as a rural property in Davie. Firefighters searched the property and found the victim, who was later taken away by the medical examiner. The victim had not been publicly identified, and officials had not said how many people lived in the building.
Davie Fire Rescue said the fire was reported in the garage area of the home, and initial units encountered heavy smoke and fire conditions in that part of the structure. Local 10 News reported that the blaze left a person dead and that the State Fire Marshal has been called in to help determine what caused it.
Davie Fire Rescue and the State Fire Marshal are involved in the investigation, and the cause remains undetermined, according to the reporting. No confirmed road closures or traffic impacts have been reported.
