Davie House Fire: One Dead, Investigation Continues

June 16, 2026

A Davie fire that destroyed part of a property and left at least one person dead is now under active investigation, according to local reporting. This is what we know so far.

Local coverage identified the victim as a 73-year-old man who lived at the property, and NBC Miami reported the fire involved a detached structure on the site. Local 10 reported firefighters found one victim at the scene, while the exact cause remained undetermined at the time of reporting.

Davie Fire Rescue said crews were called after a report of a residence fire with someone possibly trapped inside. A spokesperson said, “Upon arrival, crews quickly knocked down the fire and tragically, there appears to be one fatality associated with this incident.” Officials said the State Fire Marshal, Davie police, Davie Fire Rescue and the Life Safety Division Fire Investigator were requested to assist.

WSVN reported the American Red Cross is assisting displaced residents from the home involved in the fire. The City of Davie also posted a sign deeming the structure unsafe after the blaze.

Dispatch records show two prior structure fire incidents at this address on May 10, 2026.

The fire remains under investigation, with the State Fire Marshal and local investigators working to determine how it started, according to WSVN and local officials. No suspect information has been confirmed, and no road closures or evacuations were specified in the available reports.

Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
