Pierce County Councilmember Dave Morell Passes Away

Pierce County Executive Bruce Dammeier released a statement regarding the passing of Pierce County Councilmember Dave Morell. Executive Dammeier expressed deep sadness over the loss of Councilmember Morell, highlighting his dedication as a public servant.

“I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Councilmember Dave Morell. Dave was a dedicated public servant who cared deeply about his community and the people he served,” Executive Dammeier stated.

Councilmember Morell served the residents of Pierce County for many years. His public service included his role as a Councilmember and a long-time employee of the City of Tacoma. Executive Dammeier noted Councilmember Morell's thoughtful approach and commitment to finding solutions that benefited the entire community.

Executive Dammeier described Councilmember Morell as a friend, stating, “Dave was a friend, and I will miss him greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.”
