Cooper City House Fire: What We Know So Far
A Cooper City home fire left heavy damage but no injuries, and investigators are now working to determine what caused it, according to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue and WSVN.
According to BSFR, the fire happened at a home at 11523 SW 53rd Place, not at Cooper City Commons, and crews found heavy smoke and damage in the garage and attic areas. Officials said it did not appear that anyone was home when the fire broke out.
WSVN reported that no injuries were reported. Fire crews extinguished the flames in about 30 minutes, then stayed on scene to carry out overhaul and hotspot suppression, according to BSFR.
The State Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire, WSVN reported. No suspect information or arrests were reported in the available coverage.
Dispatch records show 71 similar structure fire incidents in Cooper City over the past six months.
Because the reported incident covered by local news was at a different address than the original dispatch location, there is no confirmed coverage in the available results of a fire at Cooper City Commons, 9359 Sheridan St., on June 6, 2026.
What happens next depends on findings from the State Fire Marshal and any further updates from BSFR. Day.News will continue to update this story as officials release more information.
