Clerk’s Office and Tax Collector Offer Extended Friday Hours

ST. JOHNS COUNTY – Residents of St. Johns County will benefit from extended hours at both the Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller’s Office and the Tax Collector’s Office, starting this Friday, April 17, 2026. The offices, typically closing at 5:00 PM, will now remain open until 6:00 PM every Friday.

This initiative aims to provide greater convenience for working families and individuals who may find it challenging to access services during standard business hours. The extended Friday hours will apply to all services offered at both departments, including property tax payments, vehicle tag renewals, marriage licenses, and court-related filings.

“We understand that many of our residents have busy schedules, and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to conduct their business with us,” stated a representative from the Clerk’s Office. “By staying open an extra hour on Fridays, we hope to better serve the needs of our community.”

Similarly, the Tax Collector’s Office emphasized their commitment to customer service. “This change is a direct response to feedback we’ve received from the public,” a spokesperson noted. “We encourage anyone who needs a little extra time to take advantage of these new hours.”

The extended hours will be available at all St. Johns County locations for both offices, including the historic courthouse in downtown St. Augustine and branches serving growing neighborhoods like Nocatee. Residents planning to visit are encouraged to check the respective office websites for specific location details and any service-specific requirements. This change is expected to be a welcome relief for many who juggle work, family, and other commitments, ensuring essential county services are more accessible to everyone.
