Clearwater City Council to Review Flexible Development Requests
Clearwater City Council to Review Flexible Development Requests
Clearwater residents should note upcoming discussions at the City Council regarding several flexible development applications. These items, currently marked as 'Agenda Ready,' will be presented for review and action by the City Council, which typically meets approximately every 18 days at 6:00 PM in the downtown City Hall chambers.
Among the applications is FLD2025-10026, a request for flexible development approval to convert a property at 375 Turner Street into a medical clinic. This project seeks flexibility for reduced off-street parking and modified landscaping through a Comprehensive Landscape Program, as the existing building does not exceed 35 feet in height and includes 57 off-street parking spaces.
Another significant item, FLD2026-01002, involves flexible development approval for an existing 1,838 square foot commercial dock with a new boat lift accessory to 27-unit attached dwellings at 125 Island Way. This property is located within the High Density Residential Island Estates Neighborhood Conservation Overlay (HDR/IENCOD) and Preservation (P) Districts, highlighting the area's commitment to preserving Clearwater's coastal heritage.
Additionally, two related Level Three Applications, LUP2026-02001 and REZ2026-02001, propose amendments for the property located at 1399 Pineapple Lane. These requests aim to change the city’s Future Land Use Map from Residential Low (RL) to Recreation/Open Space and the city’s Zoning Atlas from Residential Agriculture (R-A) to Open Space/Recreation (OS/R), respectively.
Residents interested in these developments are encouraged to attend upcoming City Council meetings or review the detailed documentation available through the city clerk's office.
