City Offices to Close for Holiday

Gainesville residents are advised that most city administrative offices will be closed on Monday, April 14, 2026, in observance of the upcoming holiday. This includes departments located at City Hall on Main Street in the heart of historic downtown Gainesville, such as the City Clerk's office, Utility Billing, and the Planning Department.

Essential services, including Gainesville Police Department and Gainesville Fire Rescue, will continue to operate without interruption to ensure public safety. Emergency services can be reached as usual. Waste management services will also proceed as scheduled, with no changes to the regular collection routes for Monday.

Residents needing to conduct city business are encouraged to do so before the end of the day on Friday, April 11, or plan their visits for Tuesday, April 15, when all city offices will resume normal operating hours. For urgent matters that are not emergencies, residents can utilize the city's online portal for certain services or refer to the city's official website for more information.
