City of Panama City Public Works Department Archive
The City of Panama City's Public Works Department has announced the establishment of a comprehensive archive for its records. This initiative aims to centralize and preserve historical documents, project plans, and operational data, ensuring easy access for future reference and transparency for Bay County residents.
The archive, located at the Public Works facility on Balboa Avenue, will house decades of vital information related to the city's infrastructure, including water, sewer, streets, and stormwater management that serve beloved local areas like historic St. Andrews. Department Director Michael Davis stated, "This archive is a critical step in maintaining our institutional knowledge and serving our community more effectively. It will allow us to quickly retrieve information on past projects and better plan for Panama City's future growth."
While the archive is primarily for internal departmental use, specific public records will be accessible to residents through standard public information request procedures. The department anticipates the archiving process to be ongoing, with new records continuously added as projects are completed.
