City Council to Consider Key Development Projects and Recognitions
Clearwater City Council is set to address several significant items at their upcoming meeting, including flexible development approvals for a medical clinic and a commercial dock, as well as land use map amendments. The meeting agenda also includes a proclamation for National Safe Boating Week, timely for Clearwater's vibrant boating community, and a Medal of Courage award presentation.
One notable item, ID#26-0400, involves a Flexible Development approval for the conversion of a property at 375 Turner Street in Clearwater's downtown district into a medical clinic. This project, located in the Institutional (I) District, seeks flexibility for reduced off-street parking and landscape buffers as part of a Comprehensive Infill Redevelopment Project. Additionally, ID#26-0401 requests Flexible Development approval for an existing 1,838 square foot commercial dock with a new boat lift at 125 Island Way, accessory to 27-unit attached dwellings within the High Density Residential Island Estates Neighborhood Conservation Overlay (HDR/IENCOD) and Preservation (P) Districts.
Further land use changes are on the agenda with ID#26-0402 and ID#26-0403. These items propose amendments to the city’s Future Land Use Map and Zoning Atlas, respectively, for the property located at 1399 Pineapple Lane. The proposed change is from Residential Low (RL) and Residential Agriculture (R-A) to Recreation/Open Space (OS/R) categories.
In a moment of community recognition, the Council will present a Medal of Courage Award to Fire Fighter Charles Stokes and an award to a Pinellas County Deputy for their assistance, as outlined in ID#26-0395. Mayor Bruce Rector and Vice Mayor Lina Teixeira, along with Councilmembers David Allbritton, Michael Mannino, and Ryan Cotton, will be present for these discussions and recognitions.
The Neighborhood and Affordable Housing Advisory Board is scheduled to meet on April 14, 2026, at 9:00 AM in the Main Library - Council Chambers.
