Chargers Select Edge Rusher Mesidor in NFL Draft's First Round
The Los Angeles Chargers selected Akheem Mesidor, an edge rusher from the University of Miami, in the first round of the NFL Draft. Mesidor is expected to contribute alongside Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu.
General Manager Joe Hortiz indicated the team will focus on bolstering the offensive line during the second day of the draft. Potential targets include Chase Bisontis (Texas A&M), Emmanuel Pregnon (Oregon), Gennings Dunker (Iowa), and Jalen Farmer (Kentucky).
The Chargers previously added Tyler Biadasz at center and Cole Strange at right guard. Hortiz acknowledged the importance of improving the offensive line to protect quarterback Justin Herbert.
