Challenger Middle School Kicks Off Intramural Sports Program
Nestled amid Cape Coral's iconic canal-lined neighborhoods, Challenger Middle School is launching an intramural sports program this week, offering students a new avenue for physical activity and teamwork outside of traditional school sports. The initiative aims to provide a fun, inclusive environment for all students to participate, regardless of their athletic experience.
The program, which begins on Wednesday, April 10, 2026, will feature various sports throughout the school year, starting with basketball and soccer. Games and practices will be held after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the school gymnasium and on the athletic fields located behind the main building on SW 16th Place.
School administrators hope the intramural program will encourage more students to engage in healthy lifestyles and build stronger connections within the school community and the welcoming Cape Coral area. Participation is open to all Challenger Middle School students, and sign-up sheets are available in the front office and with physical education teachers. There is no cost to join, and all necessary equipment will be provided by the school.
Parents interested in learning more can contact the school's main office during regular school hours.
